I was flattered to be invited of the award winning, Denver podcast; These Things Matter to talk about my ALL-time favorite band, THE DESCENDENTS!

Hello friends! How’s your summer vacation been going? I just recently got back from THAILAND! I got to plant rice fields, help build an organic composting facility and even PLAY WITH ELEPHANTS! Thanks to everyone who chipped in on the Kickstarter for the newest Mostly Harmless T-shirts & Pint glasses and helped me make this magical (and sweaty trip) happen! It was life changing, to say the least and I’m sure I’m going to annoy you all talking about it again and again over the next year. It’ll be like the time your friend got married and never fucking shut the hell out about their “awesome” wedding that didn’t even have an open bar or single bridesmaids. Ugh. Fuck you, Becky.

In other news, this week marks the 100th Episode of Mostly Harmless Podcast! In this 100th episode, I was interviewed by my long time friend and Denver comedian Mr. Eric Henderson! We chat about 100 episode of Mostly Harmless, our long friendship, drinking mishaps and more! You can listen to that over at: http://mostlyharmlesspodcast.com/100-dammit-damian-burford-answers-questions-from-comedian-eric-henderson-about-100-episodes-of-mostly-harmless-podcast/

In more exciting news I am a guest on this week’s THESE THINGS MATTER PODCAST!!!! WHAT WHAT WHAT?!?! I’m super flattered that the hosts of These Things Matter, Taylor Gonda & Kevin O’Brien asked little ole Me to be on their award winning show to talk about my ALL-time favorite band, THE DESCENDENTS! WHAAAAAA???? It was a fantastic hour long chat. Taylor and Kevin are fantastic hosts and hopefully I learned a little something from them. You can listen to the episode of These Things Matter over at: http://thesethingsmatterpodcast.com/2015/07/28/ep-163-descendants-w-damian-burford/

I’m also well underway of a new Mostly Harmless Film Series. I have a meeting with our potential theater this week and two offers out for two fantastic Punk Rock movies to kickstart this killer new Quarterly Film Program!  I can’t wait to share all the epic news as soon as I can announce it! WOOO!

Thanks for 100 episodes of awesomeness friends. It may have taken almost four years to do it,  but it was an AWESOME adventure. Here’s to 100 more!

Mostly Harmless T-shirt and Pint Glass Pre-Order!

Navy_M_F

Hello Friends! I’ve recently been given the opportunity to go to THAILAND this July as a part of the Whole Foods Market Volunteer Program! It’s a hell of an adventure. I’m going to play with elephants, build roofs, eat way too much and have the adventure of a life time!

I need somewhere around $2,000 for the airfare and I do not have a lot of time to save it up, so I decided to sell some t-shirts to help raise the money for the trip. I wanted to do something fun and special, and so we decided to do a KICKSTARTER for the T-shirt Pre-order. I decided it was high time to finally get off my butt and make the Mostly Harmless Pint Glasses I’ve talked so much about all these years.

The Kickstarter went well, and raised $1033 towards my Thailand trip! I’m still short about $400 to make the trip happen, so we’ve added a pre-order option to our online store! The online store is set up for Colorado Residents only, but if you’d like to pre-order these shirts and live out of state, please add the shipping and handling! Find the store at: http://mostlyharmlesspodcast.bigcartel.com

The shirts were designed by Damian Willcox of Dorkboy Comics. They will be printed by Chad Price (Drag The River/ ALL!) and his company Wounded Heart Press! Expected delivery is August, but we’re hoping to actually have everything done and out in June!

Mostly Harmless Live Talk show events are returning! This time with Free Beer!

Two Cow Garage let a homeless man ask them questions at Mutiny Information Exchange in Denver. They busked a few songs and donated the money to this down on his luck fellow! What sweethearts!

From the first Mostly Harmless Live taping with Two Cow Garage at Mutiny in 2013!

Last year I hosted some events for the Denver Comic Con. I hope to be doing even more this year! To prepare for it, I’m going to be doing a series of live events at Mutiny Information Cafe. They will feature comedians, artists and bands in a variety show talk show environment. Here’s how it’ll work. I’ll introduce our panel of guest and chat about each month’s topic. The first episode’s topic will be CRUSHES.

We’ll take a quick commercial break thanks to our sponsors, Ratio Beerworks and follow that up with a quick game segment! And follow that up with performances by the episodes resident comedian and band. The whole thing will be recorded (and perhaps video taped.) for everyone who can not make it to check it out.

The first episode will feature Sleeping Weather, Ian Douglas Terry and Zak Kinsella! Ratio Beerworks will be on hand sampling out their wares in anticipation of their upcoming GRAND OPENING on Feb 14th at 2920 Larimer in the RiNo Distric. The show should start around 8pm and will go no longer than 10pm.

It’ll be a funny, silly, drunken time. We’ll make a drinking game out of how many times I say “Um,” “Like,” and “uh.”

For more up to the minute information on these events, please visit: https://www.facebook.com/events/1400364183600034/

Hey Buddies! How was your summer vacation? Mine was fine! I was super busy, but now I’m happy to be back and Mostly Harmless is better than ever! We launched season 3 this week with a ridiculous interview with Sundails, Dowsing and photographer Alissa Reynolds! We’ve got some big, big big stuff in the works for Season 3 so be on the lookout.

I didn’t mean to take so much time off this summer, but life got busy. During our break, I was invited to work for Denver Comic Con, hosting their Michael Rooker (Walking Dead, Guardians of The Galaxy) panel, The Nerd Rock/Hard Rock Cafe event with The Doubleclicks and Chemistry Club; and I got to introduce Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar and the Classic Batman Tv show panel! On top of all that I got to interview the VOICE of Batman, Mr. Kevin Conroy.

I’ve stayed busy interviewing bands as well. I had two cover stories for New Noise Magazine Issue #9 with Fat Mike and Me First And The Gimme Gimmies and Issue #10 with Andrew Jackson Jihad. I also have a ton of interviews featured in each issue! You can check out most of my New Noise Magazine work at: http://newnoisemagazine.com/tag/damian-burford/

And to top off my summer “vacation,” I interviewed Minus the Bear bassist, Cory Murchy for Vice Magazine’s music blog: Noisey! You can read that here: http://noisey.vice.com/blog/minus-the-bear-cat-calls-and-ill-means-premiere

So needless to say this has been a busy summer. Stay tuned for all the greatness we have coming up. We’re currently planning episodes with Joey Cape from Lagwagon, Chris Creswell from The Flatliners, The Pietasters, The Skatalites, Backstage Riot Fest Coverage and we’re going to be getting ridiculous at THE FEST in Gainesville! Wooo!

Season 3 is going to be amazing. Thanks for all your love and support and helping to make this happen!

DESCENDENTS/ALL artist, CHRIS SHARY, Designs new Mostly Harmless shirt for Denver Comic Con!

brains shirt pint preorder for web

Chris Shary is THE artist for DESCENDENTS and ALL, as well as a myriad of others including  7seconds, Old Man Markley, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Lillingtons, and not to mention the man is the mastermind behind the current trend of bands having Christmas Sweatshirts.

A few months back I was asked to interview Chris for New Noise Magazine. I jumped at the chance and as a long time admirer of his work, I was thrilled to interview him. When we spoke on the phone, he was a dream to talk to. He was open, excited and wanted to talk about his craft. (The interview will appear in New Noise Magazine #10)

I had been invited to be a part of this year’s Denver Comic Con (June 13th – 15th) as a MC and Panel Host. Having my own table and knowing that there would be a chance for 40,000 people a day to see my table or me interviewing celebrities on stage… I knew I needed a new shirt design and reached out to Chris!

He agreed to do it and OH BOY! What a hell of a design! It is based on the Van Camp’s Pork and Beans vintage ad of a creepy kid eating straight out of the can. Chris was the perfect artist for the design!

We have the shirts in production and they will be ready in time for DENVER COMIC CON, as a bonus treat for Descendents/ALL fans, Chad Price of ALL and DRAG THE RIVER will be printing these shirts in his shop, Wounded Heart Press. That’s a hell of a two-fer for fans of ALL! And because I’ve always wanted to drink beer from a glass that is inscribed, “Mostly Harmless” We’re in the process of printing those up as well.

Shirts are currently priced at $12 and will be $15 after Denver Comic Con. Pint Glasses are currently $6 and will be $8 after the convention as well. I also have combo deals so that you can save even more! Jump on these deals NOW at:  http://mostlyharmlesspodcast.bigcartel.com/

I’ve spent every dime I have, and then some on the production of these Shirts and glasses. Why not save yourself a couple dollars and Pre-order these shirts NOW from out webstore!
