Alright Buddies! Welcome to what was originally intended to be our Riot Fest Denver Interview show! Sadly things did not go as planned, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a fantastic episode! Because it is!

This week we join Adam Fletcher of THE COPYRIGHTS in front of the Marquis Theater in Denver to talk about growing up in a small town, discovering punk rock, starting a band and the perks of growing up in a small town! We also talk a little bit about touring, and DEAR LANDLORD!

Then we randomly run into KRIS ROE from THE ATARIS backstage waiting for AGAINST ME! to play! WHAT?!?! Crazy small world. Kris remembered me from the previous interview we did in 2012! Kris was kind enough to talk to us about the many festivals he has played all over the world and how they compare. What bands he would like to see reunite and how he discovered THE REPLACEMENTS!

This interview was to be the first of MANY interviews about our weekend at May Farms for Riot Fest Denver! As things work out, I kept running into a ton of band members backstage, but always when they were watching their friends and favorite bands play. I’d ask them if we could grab a quick word with them, but as it was they were there to watch their friends and favorite bands play. They’d tell me, “SURE! We’ll do it after this set!” Then things wouldn’t work out. Hey, that’s life right?

While my Press pass did not grant me side stage access, I somehow found myself side stage watching Against Me, Alkaline Trio, THE REPLACEMENTS and FLAG! It was a hell of a weekend!

We’ll have a full write up on Riot Fest Denver posted over at New Noise Magazine later this week!

Check below for my videos of THE REPLACEMENT from backstage!

25 – RED CITY RADIO’s Paul Pendley and Garrett Dale talk about destiny, finding the world of punk rock and the 7th Greatest country musician in the world.

Comedian Aaron Snyder watches in awe of Red City Radio live at the Surfside 7 in Fort Collins

Hello Friends! This week I travel northward into the alcoholic wonderland that is Fort Collins. Great times where had on a Sunday night at the infamous Surfside 7.I follow the Red City Radio guys back to The Chowder House (home of Arliss Nancy). In typical Dammit Damian style, I proceed to drink extremely too much in a town where the streets are literally paved with breweries! After blacking out around three am, I coax Red City Radio guitar players, Paul Pendley & Garrett Dale into joining me on the patio for a late night chat session. I proceed to make an ass out of myself, but the class acts that they are, Paul and Garrett still deliver the goods. Detailing how Punk rock influenced them to pick up their guitars, all the while making fun of me for being ridiculous.

  • Red City Radio talks about how four front men happened to form a band, Destiny and how they don’t believe it.
  • Garrett talks about his worldly travels and how he ended up in OKC.
  • Garrett and Paul talk tell their individual stories of how they fell into punk rock and its direct influence on becoming guitar players.
  • The 7th greatest country musician in the world. (with a singalong.)
  • What they learned from working in venues and how it applied to being in a band.
  • Writing process for the Dangers of Standing Still and why it stands out so much.

The episode opens up with “I’m Well, You’re Poison” from 2011’s The Dangers of Standing Still
This episode also contains bonus live tracks from The Surfside 7!
Those songs include:
“Spinning In Circles Is A Gateway Drug”
“No One Believes In Moons & Goochers”
“Two For Flinching.”
